At the Workplace

If you work with the gahmen, there comes a moment when you can say, "this is a gahmen moment". Whether you're in the office discussing about bosses, in an auditorium full of other gahmen officers attending a dialogue, or just queuing up in line to pay your bills. It will hit you and either send you into a mild depression or get you chuckling at the absurdity of it all. Savor and Cherish those moments. Remember them well. Cause when National Day comes rolling around the corner then you can really feel a sense of National Identity for no other gahmen can give us those memories.

I attended a dialogue session the other day by the PS21 Office clarifying the myths and doubts and cynicism behind those WITS and SSS. I definitely don't want to work in a stagnant office environment and neither should you. If there is any way for us to do less work, one should embrace it. So here comes my two cents:

Lazy people are not worthless. They can be the most innovative and cunning people in the office. It is my personal maxim that Lazy people come up with the best ideas in work efficiency because they are constantly on the lookout to do less work. I admit I myself am always looking for ways to cut corners. The reckless ones takes risks that may adversely affect their responsibilities but in general most clever lazy people are also cowards that don't want to get into trouble. I say we burden this group of people with the most work and yet empower them to find the best ways to cut corners.

Make sure you document their movements or this whole exercise would in vain since you don't really expect lazy people to come up with a proper S.O.P. do you?

Or this whole thing might backfire, they come up with tons and tons of ideas but nothing gets done at all. Which I think pretty much sums up Innovation at the workplace quite neatly. :D
