Wet, Wet, Wet

Though it was raining this morning, my sis and I left for a cycling trip at East Coast. Since the rain didn't let up though it was 0930hrs we went ahead anyway. We got more soaked from all the puddles rather than the rain itself.

My sis got this kick-ass new bike (the blue one) whose gear transmission was so smooth that we considered lugging it home. The bike frame was Wheeler but the gear transmission was Shimano. In fact we're discussing on the financing of a new bike at the moment. We have yet to find a suitable agent who can provide all of our regular maintenance needs. Once those details are settled then we'll discuss about maybe getting the sport version or upgrading it to bucket seats.

My bike was old and creaky but had a great rear suspension. At one time I did a "Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift" stunt when trying to avoid an oncoming girl whose bike had cut into my lane. We both squeezed the brakes but due to the wet ground, although my wheels stopped turning, my bike continued to skid forward towards her. Knowing that if I swerved the handlebar I would probably end up face-first on the tar, I just twisted the handlebar slightly to allow the bike to drift past her at an angle. During this whole time both my feet were still on the paddles. When my bike went safely past hers, I released the brakes and continued paddling without stopping. Very exhilirating I tell you. But her parents are probably cursing me.

Later on after we returned our bikes, I spotted this surreal line of sandcastles which were a lot larger than those made by human younglings. I just assumed there were constructed by alien ants of noble stature. And very "period" tastes. That watchtower is so "last week".
