Me and my dad were clearing out stuff today and I knew I had to share this.
That's my postcard stuff in the plastic bag. I have too many of those had to get rid of a whole bunch. Yes, that's a Natalie Portman postcard on top. We decided to part ways for now and see other people. She says that we both needed some space to grow into our own personality more before we can move on to something more serious.
My heart bleeds to hear her say those words but I know she right. So OUT she goes with the trash.
You see those 2 discreetly wrapped bags on the left? Well this is what's inside:
It's called a "batu giling" and used to grind spices to make malay dishes. It hasn't been used in close to 15-20 years so we're throwing it out. The slab alone weighs like full-grown woman (at least that's what it feels like) and by the time I carried it six floor down my arms were aching. Yes, I am out of shape.
Dad says Malay dishes cooked with spices prepared from that thing tastes way better than those that come out from a blender. I guess so, since judging by the weight of that thing, housewives had superhuman strength and personally I do not want tell any lady who usually prepares a dish with that thing that her cooking sucks. I maybe crazy but I'm ain't stupid.
I wonder how the Bangla cleaners are going to react when they find that thing. Hope they don't think it's some sort of torture device and call the cops.
